Projects that build real skills

5 portfolio projects you build on Embedded Systems Engineering Diploma.

  • Smart Home

Home automation system with two privilege levels (Admin/User), controlled remotely via Bluetooth or locally through LCD and Keypad. Controls 5 ON/OFF lamps, one dimmable lamp, a servo-driven door, an air conditioner based on ambient temperature, and an alarm. User credentials are stored in EEPROM, and the system locks down after 3 failed login attempts.

    AVRSensorsActuators
  • Electric Water Heater

Electric water heater controller with a set temperature from 35 °C to 75 °C in 5-degree steps. Displays on 2 seven-segment digits, controls heating and cooling elements with a ±5 °C hysteresis band, samples temperature every 100 ms and decides based on the average of the last 10 readings. The set temperature is retained in EEPROM across power cycles.

    AVRSensors
  • Glove for Deaf

Wearable glove with 5 flex sensors mounted on the fingers that translates sign language gestures into words displayed on an LCD, supporting a minimum of 15 words. The previous word is cleared whenever a new gesture is recognized.

    AVRSensors
  • Autonomous Car

Self-driving car that avoids obstacles. An ultrasonic sensor mounted on a servo scans 180° to detect obstacles ahead, and the car changes its path based on the readings. An L293D controls motor speed and direction, and an LCD displays the current direction.

    AVRSensorsMotors
  • PWM Drawer

Mini oscilloscope built on a graphical LCD that captures and plots a PWM signal, displaying the waveform shape, frequency in KHz, duty cycle percentage, and single cycle time. The signal source can be internal to the microcontroller or external.
